When they hold your license for a period

They hold your license for a while (suspension) for serious things: over 40 km/h above the limit, alcohol or drugs, refusing the test, fleeing without helping the injured, or using the emergency lane. Just 20 km/h over is not enough.

Running out of points leads to a review, not suspension.
